A. Yes, however whilst the judges will not be told the identity of a nominator, they will be told whether a nominee has nominated themselves or were nominated by another person; preference may be given to nominees who have been nominated by another person. Individuals will be asked to indicate whether they are nominating themself or someone else when completing the nomination form.
A. The criteria each nominee for an award will be judged against are detailed on the Award Criteria page of this website.
A. In the interests of impartiality, with the exception for judges working for Jordan Publishing who will be helping administrate the awards, judges will not know who nominated an individual or an organisation. However, the judges will be told if a nominee nominated themselves or were nominated by a third party.
A. The awards are open to anyone who practices in family law, even if they practice other areas of law as well.
A. No. Winners of an award will be excluded from being short-listed or winning the same award two years in a row. This does not prevent them from winning (or being short-listed) for an award in any other relevant categories. It also does not prevent an individual from winning (or being short-listed) for an award that one of their colleagues from the same organisation won the previous year.
A. Yes, an individual or organisation that was short-listed for an award one year can be short-listed and go on to win the same award the following year. Only award winners are excluded from being short-listed or winning the same award two years in a row.
